It is not my intention to lie or mislead people on this website. But as you defiantly have noticed not some of the things I have said are said without evidence. Truth is not relative. But there is a remarkable truth in that there is truth within a lie. Here is my family motto : Vero NIhil Verius. I have seen it translated in two ways. Truth Nothing, but Truth; Nothing Truer than truth. I think this motto explains why there can be truth within a lie. Lies are never pure falsity. They cannot be because they would have no meaning if they were all false. In fact what makes a lie more effective is when there is truth in it. However, this is not the case for truth. Truth only reduces to truth. What i mean by truth reduces to truth is that it is not through the falsities of a lie that the truth in the lie becomes known, but it is through the truth in it that the truth becomes know. This page deals with the nature of truth in this project and the role of untruth in this project.
The Types of Truth in This Project
Truth here can be broken down into two general categories.
verified empirical truth based of literal interpretations of significant prophecies
unverifiable parables connected to prophecies
An example of a post in the first category would be my first post, Jesus (ܝܫܘܥ) is Alive and Well — But PLEASE DON’T CALL HIM JESUS, whereas an example of the second category would be my fourth post, Genesis. I want to try to keep these two categories as separate as possible. In other words, I want to try to keep posts within one category or the other, or at least, make it clear what is literal and empirical, and what is parabolic. The jokes are jokes, and questions can’t be true or false. With the videos it is more complicated, for instance my Grandmother never read Schelling, but she always did say when she was old, “YES AND NO.” There is a connection to Schelling’s The Ages of the world here.
This is from the 1815 draft of The Ages of the World:
God, in accordance with the necessity of its nature, is an eternal No, the highest Being-in-itself, an eternal withdrawal of its being into itself, a withdrawal within which no creature would be capable of living. But the same God, with equal necessity of its nature, although not in accord with the same principle, but in accord with a principle that is completely different from the first principle, is the eternal Yes, an eternal outstretching, giving, and communicating of its being. Each of these principles, in an entirely equal fashion, is the being, that is, each has the same claim to be God or that which has being. Yet they reciprocally exclude each other. If one is that which has being, then the opposed can only be that which does not have being. But, in an equally eternal manner, God is the third term or the unity of the Yes and the No.
Fredrich Schelling. The Ages of the World. Translated by Jason Writh
Verified Empirical Truth
Unless we are in a dream, a simulation, under a evil demons spell, a brain in a vat, or some collective hallucination, its true that Intersubjectively verified empirical observation is true as it gets, notwithstanding mathematical truths and moral truths.
This projects main claim is empirical and is as certain as any empirical observation. It does not claim to be infallible, in the sense of cannot be doubted, but it does claim to be as accurate as any scientific or historical observation. It treats the prophecies and records it appeals to as true when verified.
Parabolic Truth
What I call parabolic truth are the stories that just aren’t verified but tell a lesson or offer an explanation. These are not metaphors or are metaphors. Either way you should not take the facts in them seriously but listen to the message instead. To make a joke about the fourth post, Abel and Seth’s lines could converge.
To Teach
There are universal moral lessons that are needed to be told. Verified empirical observation does not lend itself to teaching them, but it does inform them.
To Connect and Explain.
Given the need for interfaith cooperation, new stories are needed to connect doctrines in a way the causes cross cultural inculturation opening up the possibility of Human Culture in a way that is not defined or dominated by any one culture, but a merger or harmony of the best parts of all of them.
